Getting Started
What is Hisab Journey?
Hisab Journey is a personal finance management application designed for Indian users. It helps you track income, expenses, and transfers, manage budgets, and set up recurring transactions. All your financial data is encrypted and stored securely.
How much does Hisab Journey cost?
Hisab Journey offers a 30-day trial with all features included - no credit card required. After the trial, continue with our affordable monthly plan at ₹199/month. You can cancel anytime.
How do I create an account?
Simply click "Get Started" on our homepage or visit the app. Register using your email address and create a secure password. The registration process takes less than a minute.
Can I use Hisab Journey on my mobile phone?
Yes! Hisab Journey is available on iOS (App Store), Android (Google Play), and web browsers. Your data syncs automatically across all devices, so you can track expenses on your phone and review reports on your computer.
How do I access Hisab Journey on the web?
Simply visit app.hisabjourney.com in any modern web browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge). You can also install it as a Progressive Web App (PWA) for quick access from your desktop or home screen.
Payments & Subscription
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major payment methods through Razorpay, including Credit/Debit Cards (Visa, MasterCard, RuPay), UPI (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM), Net Banking from all major banks, and popular wallets. All payments are processed securely through Razorpay's PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway.
How does the free trial work?
You get a 30-day free trial with full access to all features - no credit card required. Simply sign up and start using Hisab Journey immediately. Before your trial ends, you'll receive reminders to subscribe if you wish to continue.
How do I subscribe after my trial ends?
After your trial, you can subscribe to our monthly plan at just ₹199/month. Go to Settings > Subscription in the app, and choose your preferred payment method. Your subscription activates instantly upon successful payment.
Can I cancel my subscription anytime?
Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time from your Settings page. Your access will continue until the end of your current billing period. We don't believe in lock-ins - you're free to leave whenever you want.
What is your refund policy?
We offer refunds on a case-by-case basis within 7 days of payment if you're not satisfied with the service. Contact us at support@hisabjourney.com with your registered email and reason for the refund request. Refunds are processed within 5-7 business days.
What happens to my data if I don't renew?
Your data remains safe and secure even if your subscription expires. You can still log in and view your data in read-only mode. Once you renew, full access is restored immediately. We never delete your data due to subscription expiry.
Is my payment information secure?
Absolutely. We use Razorpay, India's leading payment gateway, which is PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant (the highest level of security certification). We never store your card details or banking information on our servers - all payment processing is handled securely by Razorpay.
Web & Mobile Apps
What platforms is Hisab Journey available on?
Hisab Journey is available on three platforms: Web (app.hisabjourney.com), iOS (App Store), and Android (Google Play). All platforms offer the same features and your data syncs automatically across devices.
Do I need separate accounts for web and mobile?
No! Use the same account across all platforms. Sign in with your email and password on any device, and your data will be there. All changes sync in real-time.
Can I use Hisab Journey offline?
The mobile apps support offline mode for viewing your data. However, to add or edit transactions, you need an internet connection to ensure your data syncs properly across all devices.
How does voice input work?
On mobile apps, tap the microphone icon and speak naturally, like "Spent 500 on groceries today". The app understands your command and creates the transaction automatically. Voice processing happens on your device for privacy.
How does receipt scanning work?
Tap the camera icon when adding a transaction, take a photo of your receipt, and the app will automatically extract the amount, date, and merchant. You can review and edit before saving. The receipt image is processed locally on your device.
Security & Privacy
Is my financial data safe with Hisab Journey?
Absolutely. We take security very seriously. All your financial data is encrypted using AES-256-GCM encryption (the same standard used by banks) before being stored in our database. This means even we cannot read your financial data in plain text. Additionally, all data transmission uses HTTPS/TLS encryption.
Does Hisab Journey connect to my bank account?
No. Hisab Journey is a manual financial tracking application. We do NOT connect to, access, or retrieve data from any bank or financial institution. All transaction data is entered manually by you. Bank account names you create in the app are simply labels for your organizational purposes and do not represent actual connections to banks.
Can Hisab Journey access my bank statements?
No. We have no ability to access your bank statements, bank accounts, or any banking systems. Your financial data in Hisab Journey is completely separate from your actual bank accounts.
What happens to my data if I delete my account?
When you delete your account, all your data (transactions, accounts, categories, settings) is permanently removed from our servers within 30 days. This action cannot be undone.
Do you sell my data to third parties?
Never. We do NOT sell, trade, or rent your personal or financial information to anyone. Your data is used solely to provide you with the Hisab Journey service. See our Privacy Policy for complete details.
How are my passwords stored?
Your password is never stored in plain text. We use bcrypt hashing, which is a one-way encryption algorithm. This means even we cannot see your password - we can only verify if the password you enter matches the stored hash.
Features & Usage
What are recurring transactions?
Recurring transactions allow you to set up automatic entries for regular income or expenses (like salary, rent, subscriptions, EMIs). You configure the amount, frequency (weekly, monthly, quarterly, or yearly), and start date. The system will automatically create transactions on the scheduled dates.
How do subscription and autopay reminders work?
When you mark a recurring expense as a subscription or autopay, Hisab Journey will automatically send you reminders 10, 5, 3, and 1 days before each renewal. You'll get both an email and an in-app notification so you're never caught off guard by upcoming charges.
How do budgets work?
You can create budgets for different expense categories (like Food, Entertainment, Shopping). Set a monthly spending limit, and Hisab Journey will track your actual spending against the budget. You'll see visual progress bars, and if you exceed your limit, you'll receive an email and in-app notification alerting you.
Can I track multiple bank accounts?
Yes! You can create and manage multiple accounts (like HDFC Savings, SBI Current, Cash, etc.). Each transaction can be assigned to a specific account, and you can view balances and transaction history for each account separately.
Can I export my data?
Yes! You can export your transaction data for backup purposes or for use in other applications. This ensures you always have access to your financial records.
What are transfers?
Transfers allow you to record money movements between your own accounts. For example, transferring money from your Savings account to your Current account. Unlike income or expenses, transfers don't affect your overall financial summary - they just move money from one account to another.
Account & Data
Can I change my email address?
Currently, email addresses cannot be changed after registration as they serve as your unique identifier. If you need to use a different email, you would need to create a new account.
What financial year format does Hisab Journey use?
Hisab Journey automatically sets the financial year format based on your country during registration. For example, India uses April-March, Australia uses July-June, and US uses January-December. You can customize this in your Settings along with currency, date format, and number formatting preferences.
Can I use Hisab Journey for business accounting?
Hisab Journey is designed for personal finance management. While you can use it to track business income and expenses, it's not a full-featured accounting software. It doesn't include features like invoicing, GST calculation, or compliance reporting that businesses typically need.
Is there a limit on the number of transactions I can add?
With our paid subscription, you get unlimited transactions. During the 30-day trial, you also have full access to all features. Check our pricing page for specific details.
Troubleshooting
I forgot my password. How do I reset it?
Click on "Forgot Password" on the login page. Enter your registered email address, and we'll send you a password reset link. The link is valid for 1 hour.
The app is loading slowly. What can I do?
Try clearing your browser cache, or if you've installed the PWA, try uninstalling and reinstalling it. Also ensure you have a stable internet connection. If problems persist, contact our support team.
My transaction didn't save. What happened?
Ensure you have an active internet connection when saving transactions. If you were offline, the transaction may not have synced. Try refreshing the page and checking if the transaction appears. If it's still missing, re-enter the transaction.
